Faial Fortress (Santana)

Built in the 18th century as a watchtower against invaders, the Fortim do Faial (Santana) is today presented as a viewing point and is considered a Local Value Monument.
This monument has a recreational and nineteenth-century architecture.
The viewpoint recreates a semicircular military battery, following the profile of the slope where it is placed, with an outer wall, having two thirds lower advanced and a masonry capping.
It has in the courtyard a small support house, of quadrangular shape, with characteristics of the popular Madeiran architecture.

- Panoramic view Provides a panoramic view. It is usually located in a high place, from where you can enjoy a horizon with beautiful views.
- Temporarily closed (maintenance) It is temporarily unavailable at the moment, for maintenance. It can become operational at any time.
