The Fluvial Beach of Castelo, or Ilha dos Amores, is a small corner with a strip of sand on the Douro River and which allows access to Ilha dos Amores by paddle and canoe - a very peaceful place with easy access. It has beach facilities at the height and access from a small dock; ideal for small groups or a quiet family day out.

Pleasant, with a bar next to the beach and free parking, Praia Fluvial do Castelo is located in the parish of Fornos, in Castelo de Paiva, bathed by the mild waters of the Douro River. The Paiva River flows here in front of your beloved Ilha dos Amores.

Its natural surroundings, water sports and the infrastructure offered make it one of the best in the region. During the summer, on weekends, there is a great hustle and bustle of motor boats.

What is different about Praia Fluvial do Castelo is that in front of it is Ilha do Castelo or Ilha dos Amores, as it is better known, and here the Paiva River flows. On the other hand, it has good support infrastructure, a café/bar, changing rooms and a swimming pool.

The river beach of Castelo, or Ilha dos Amores as it is also called due to an islet in the middle, is a river area that has several particularities. One of which is that it is a river beach on two rivers, the Douro and the Paiva, as it is right at the mouth of the Paiva River, which flows into the Douro River. Another peculiarity is that it is a river beach with a swimming pool, as the Castelo municipal swimming pool is located next to it, so you can choose between a sandy beach or a swimming pool.
