The Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, located at Largo do Chiado 15, 1200-443, Lisbon, is a small and simple but beautiful and fascinating church. It has a small chapel of Santa Maria Goreti, which is truly enchanting.
As with all churches in Portugal, its architecture is neoclassical, very simple, but its interior has great beauty. Thus, it is possible to visit and discover all parts of the building.
It is currently located in the center of the city, near the bustling Largo do Chiado. From the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, you can enjoy an enveloping view of the city – next to another spectacular church, the Italian church of Our Lady of Loreto, and the important Porta de Santa Catarina, one of the main accesses to the city.
Inaugurated in 1708, this iconic church has its façade decorated with some "rocaille" elements that adorn and enhance its architectural splendor. Also stands out the decoration brought by the images of Santa Catarina built in what was a lookout tower from the 16th century. Although it was affected by the 1755 earthquake, it was subsequently restored between 1784 and 1875, remaining preserved to this day.
