Quinta do Crasto: A Premier Wine Tourism Destination

Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a historic property dating back to the 17th century. With its first references dating from 1615, this estate has been owned by the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. Covering about 130 hectares, Quinta do Crasto stands out for its old vineyards, averaging 70 years, among which the famous Vinha Maria Teresa and Vinha da Ponte stand out. These vineyards are the source of Quinta do Crasto's special category wines, which include the production of three categories of Port wine – Finest Reserve, LBV, and Vintage – and more recently, the production of superior category olive oil.

International Recognition and Modernization

Since 1997, when the Quinta do Crasto 1995 was awarded Wine of the Year by the International Wine Challenge, the estate has continued to receive distinctions from critics and international publications. In 2008, the Quinta do Crasto Reserva Vinhas Velhas 2005 was rated the third-best wine in the world by Wine Spectator magazine, consistently remaining in the Top 100 of this publication. Currently, the estate is managed by Tomás and Miguel, sons of Leonor and Jorge Roquette, who combine modernization with tradition and family values.
