Tucked below the Cristo Rei monument, this lesser-known viewpoint is reached via a 10-minute walk down a quiet staircase. Set among the vine-covered ruins and graffiti-laced walls of the 18th-century Quinta da Arealva estate, it offers a unique blend of urban decay and artistic atmosphere. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the 25 de Abril Bridge, the Tagus River, and the Lisbon skyline—especially magical at sunset or after dark.

Quinta da Arealva – Almada

How to get there:

  1. Take the ferry from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas – it costs €1.35 each way. The crossing takes about 10 minutes.
  2. Once you arrive in Cacilhas, just walk along Caminho do Ginjal, always alongside the Tagus. It's about a 20- to 25-minute leisurely walk to Quinta da Arealva.
  3. It's located next to Cais do Olho de Boi, at the end of the path.

Extra tip: Make the most of the day and include Jardim do Rio and Cristo Rei in your itinerary; you can do everything on foot!
