The 'Lagoa das Éguas' is located in the Serra Devassa, encased in a volcanic crater. Its altitude in relation to sea level is 870 meters and it is surrounded by typical Macaronesian forests and Cryptomeria plantations, being close to the 'Miradouro das Lagoas Empadadas'.
