The Church of Santa Eulália de Tenões is one of the oldest Portuguese late Romanesque works and an excellent example of local history. Documented since the first half of the 11th century, it was built in the very heart of the city, with views of the city and access by car.

This church is a significant part of the regional context of Entre-Douro-e-Minho, associated with periods of greater progress for the region. It is possible that it dates from the time of the Condal Uilla of Ilduara Mendes, during the 11th century, although its worship dates back to earlier medieval times.

The late Romanesque plan of the church is modest, consisting of a rectangular nave with an integrated main chapel. The main entrance has an already broken arch with a single archivolt and is decorated with an interior frieze and decorative balls, a clear Gothic element. The tympanum highlights a consecration cross.

At various times in the 18th century, some alteration works of the church were carried out, such as the construction of the sacristy and the reformulation of the triumphal arch, as well as the addition of two fireplaces on the main façade. The last restoration, in 2002, had to be embargoed by IPPAR.
